Ingersheim, Germany, 22.04.2026 | Driving International Growth: ACPS Automotive becomes an independent part of the Meili Group
ACPS Automotive is setting the course for the future: the European market leader in towbars for cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles will become an independent part of the Meili Group, thereby gaining a strategic partner with strong engineering and manufacturing expertise in the automotive sector.
Zhejiang Meili Technology Co., Ltd. has acquired ACPS Automotive from its previous owner, the investor Towerbrook, who had acquired the company from the Bosal Group in 2018 and has successfully developed it further since then.
Meili is a publicly listed company based in China with more than 30 years of experience in the development and production of suspension components. The company already works successfully with leading automotive manufacturers and suppliers worldwide.
The company is renowned for its exceptional development and innovation capabilities, combined with in-house manufacturing capabilities and a strong portfolio of patents. As such, Meili is the ideal complement to ACPS Automotive’s innovation-driven positioning.
ACPS Automotive will continue to operate independently in the market and maintain its existing business relationships as before. At the same time, its integration into the group enables the sharing of resources and the targeted leveraging of complementary strengths.
Michael Weiss, CEO of ACPS Automotive: “We are delighted to have found a long-term investor in Zhejiang Meili Technology Co., Ltd., a company that fully shares our commitment to quality, innovation and sustainable development, and which supports our international expansion both strategically and operationally.”
Germany and Hungary will continue to serve as key hubs for research and development as well as sales. “With the takeover by Meili, we are gaining a partner who will drive our international growth in a targeted manner,” emphasises Michael Weiss. “We are building on a strong market position and can now take the next logical step to further expand our global operations.”
Our access to the Chinese market will be further strengthened – a market that ACPS Automotive is already actively developing with its own R&D centre and manufacturing facility. Meili brings additional industrial depth, local market knowledge and potential for scaling to this business.
While ACPS Automotive continues to expand its position in China, Meili benefits from ACPS Automotive’s established market presence, customer portfolio and OE-oriented development expertise in Europe and North America.
